I don’t know and I don’t understand sometimes. Why is it different for them Lord?
.
If we are saved, if we met God, if we’ve encounter this radical LOVE, we must yearn for more.
.
There should be a never-ending, burning desire in our hearts to know Him more. To want Him more.
.
To have found God and still to pursue Him is the soul’s paradox of love, scorned indeed by the...

Here’s a passage.
We humans represent the only species on earth with whom God can hold a conversation. Only we can...

How often do we actually do “ordinary, simple human things which will give evidence to God that I am abandoned to Him?”
janeym:
“If human love does not carry a man beyond himself, it is not love. If love is always discreet, always wise, always sensible and calculating, never carried beyond itself, it is not love at all. It may be affection, it may be warmth of feeling, but it has not the...

it’s always hard to know where you stand with a friend. are you friends, in the Facebook sense, or friends, where he would bail you out of jail, or friends, where she would be in there with you? like anything important, the bonds of friendship are intangible.
but there are ways to make friendship at least somewhat tangible. and our insecurities need this tangibility. we need to know....

It all means something
I was prompted in my reading to think about hell. Such a dire, eternal consequence in response to the brief moment here on earth.
Today matters
The heaviness of punishment reminds me that this day matters. God says it matters. Despite my misgivings about the day, he says it matters, because hell matters. This moment will shape an eternal outcome.
Our days amount to an eternal result. Behind the...

If I am depressed or burdened, I am to blame, not God or anyone else…
Spiritual lust causes me to demand an answer from God, instead of seeking God Himself who gives the answer.
The purpose of prayer is that we get ahold of God,not of the answer.

Growing up, Challies felt that Bible reading was an obligation. “I felt that if I was going to be a Christian kid, this is what I had to do.” Throughout the years, his perspective has changed. He now emphasizes that there is no scriptural command that believers must read and study the Bible each day—a realization that freed him to delight in his own study. “I think most Christians are eager to...
